Associates
Keith Chaffer MRICS, AssociateKeith qualified in 1972, having obtained a Diploma in Building Economics, the precursor of the present-day Degrees, in 1970 from Leeds Polytechnic (now Leeds Metropolitan University) Keith has been involved primarily on major new build projects, for a leading supermarket company, since joining RP&P in 1994. Initially working for 2 years in the Bradford Office, he has since worked in the Leeds Office with involvement on projects from Feasibility Stage through to agreement of Final Accounts, including helping co-ordinate pre and post contract duties/requirements with those involved on similar projects in both the Leeds and Bradford Offices. Keith now appreciates the freedom (and financial benefit) of his two daughters having "flown the nest", after having graduated from university, and enjoys gardening, walking, crime novels and the odd glass of red wine!
Simon Hodge BSc (Hons), AssociateSimon graduated from Birmingham City University in 1994, prior to which he worked for six years as a Time Served Joiner/ Shopfitter Simon joined the Rex Procter & Partners in 2002, becoming an Associate of the Practice in 2006 based within the Bradford Office. Simon's experience covers most sectors of the industry, although over the last ten years there has been an emphasis on complicated extension/refurbishment Schemes for the Private Healthcare and Retail Sectors. Outside of work Simon enjoys socialising and dining out with friends. Other areas of interest are walking, back packing holidays off the beaten track, sailing and bass fishing.
Steve Smith MRICS, AssociateSteve qualified in 1990, having graduated from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham in 1989. Steve has experience across most business sectors, but has concentrated, in recent years, in the retail and commercial areas. Away from the office Steve’s main interests follow a sporting theme, whether watching or participating, and also time out with his family.
Marcus Rathbone BSc(Hons) MRICS AssociateMarcus has been with the Practice since 1999 becoming chartered in 2003. Marcus has a range of QS and Employer’s Agent experience in the retail and commercial sector, however his specialist knowledge lies in road, rail and air transport. Marcus leads a team dedicated to transport as well as being responsible for the environmental policy for the Practice and the web site. Interests outside of the office include travel, his young family, reading and photography.
John Pollard BSc Hons MRICS AssociateJohn qualified in 1980, having graduated from Trent University, Nottingham in 1977. John’s QS experience covers many sectors but with a strong emphasis on education, commercial and mixed use schemes. John has worked in most sectors of the industry, carrying out the roles of Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Project Manager. Outside of work, John spends a good deal of time with his family but retains interest in all sporting activities. Particular interests include golf, cycling and motorcycling.
Ian Hutchinson MRICS, AssociateIan has a wealth of experience in the construction industry, having worked for both contractors and, for the last 20 years, in private practice. Ian has worked in most sectors of the industry, carrying out the roles of Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Project Manager. In recent years Ian’s experience has predominantly been in Education, Offices and Residential schemes. Ian is a Chartered Surveyor and carries out the role of APC Assessor on behalf of the RICS for candidates applying to become members. Outside of work, Ian enjoys flying, gliding and has recently taken up cycling as a hobby.
Andrew Cooper MRICS, Managing PartnerAndrew qualified in 1993, after having completed his studies via correspondence course.. Andrews experience covers many sectors, but with particular emphasis on commercial and food retail schemes. Andrew enjoys working closely with owner occupiers and investors to ensure their aspirations are achieved. Andrew is the Managing Partner and runs the Leeds Office. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys gardening and, when time permits, playing golf.
Craig Hoyle BSc, AssociateCraig joined Rex Procter & Partners in 2003 having previously worked for other QS Practices and a Civils Consultant as Employer's Agent/Senior QS. Craig has a broad experience across a variety of sectors including residential, retail, civils, industrial, commercial and education. Since joining RP&P Craig has concentrated on the industrial, commercial and education sectors managing large successful projects in each. In 2007 Craig was promoted to Associate and has a lead role in the management and co-ordination of Project Management and Employer's Agent work in the Leeds Office. Outside of work, Craig has interest in most sports including assistant coach of his daughter's football team and likes to get away for camping/caravanning weekends with his family and friends.
Martin Stockwell MRICS, AssociateMartin qualified in 1992, having graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1987. Martin's QS experience covers most sectors of the building industry but latterly with strong emphasis on education, heritage and refurbishment schemes. Outside work Martin enjoys socialising with friends and dining out. He is also involved with local junior football.
Paul H Mackie MRICS, Senior PartnerPaul qualified in 1990, having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1988. Paul's QS experience covers major projects in the commercial sector and mixed use schemes as well as international experience across the Middle East and Europe. Paul is Vice-President of the Bradford Society of Architects and Surveyors (2009), Chairman of the Bradford Professional Network and Bradford Interact, Chairman of Common Purpose (Bradford), Chairman of the Centre of Skills Excellence Board (CoSE) for Park Lane College, Vice Chairman of the Bradford Property Forum and a Board Member of the Children's University in Bradford. Paul is the Senior Partner and runs the Bradford Office. Paul is happily married to Paula with two grown up boys and is an active sports person with a passion for Rugby Union and golf. Other interests outside work include socialising with friends and helping to promote Bradford in becoming a better place to live and work. |
