Directors
Paul H Mackie MRICS, ChairmanPaul qualified in 1990, having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1988. Paul's QS experience covers major projects in the commercial sector and mixed use schemes as well as international experience across the Middle East and Europe. Paul is Vice-President of the Bradford Society of Architects and Surveyors (2009), Chairman of the Bradford Professional Network and Bradford Interact, Chairman of Common Purpose (Bradford), Chairman of the Centre of Skills Excellence Board (CoSE) for Park Lane College, Vice Chairman of the Bradford Property Forum and a Board Member of the Children's University in Bradford. Paul is the Chairman and runs the Bradford Office. Paul is happily married to Paula with two grown up boys and is an active sports person with a passion for Rugby Union and golf. Other interests outside work include socialising with friends and helping to promote Bradford in becoming a better place to live and work.
Andrew Cooper MRICS, Managing DirectorAndrew qualified in 1993, after having completed his studies via correspondence course.. Andrews experience covers many sectors, but with particular emphasis on commercial and food retail schemes. Andrew enjoys working closely with owner occupiers and investors to ensure their aspirations are achieved. Andrew is the Managing Director and runs the Leeds Office. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys gardening and, when time permits, playing golf.
Alex Blenard MRICS, DirectorAlex qualified in 2000, having graduated from Bolton Institute of Higher Education in 1996. Alex's QS and Project Management experience covers almost all sectors but with a strong emphasis on Education and other Public Sector developments Alex has wide experience of both traditional and Design and Build projects. Alex's most recent commissions have seen him heavily involved in Building Schools for the Future. Working with a number of Local Authorities assisting with the challenges involved in the delivery of their extensive Capital Investment programmes. Away from work, Alex is a keen cricketer, playing for a local team on the hills above Hebden Bridge. Alex also follows in his families footsteps with his love of food and is often found honing his culinary skills at home or eating out. The latter now more reserved for special occasions with the advent of his two children.
Andrew Wharton, MRICS, DirectorAndrew joined Rex Procter & Partners in 1997, following early years consultancy experience in Luxembourg and London. A Nottingham Trent University graduate, Andrew became a MRICS in 1994 and has over 15 years post qualification experience in traditional quantity surveying, project management, Employer’s Agent and fund monitoring roles on projects procured under a variety of traditional and design and build forms of contract. Based in our Leeds office, Andrew is now primarily responsible for design and build projects and fund monitoring. Andrew’s leisure interests revolve around sport and outdoor activities, including playing and coaching cricket, badminton, cycling and long distance hill walking.
Chris Ing MRICS DirectorChris gained a BSc with distinction at Leeds Polytechnic in 1978 and qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1981. Chris joined Rex Procter & Partners in 1985 and was made an Associate in 1989 before becoming a Partner in 2006. Project experience covers retail, commercial, education and more recently a series of museum projects covering both capital development works and exhibition fit out. Outside of work, Chris is involved in a number of local committees and also plays badminton and has recently taken up golf.
Chris Snee MRICS, DirectorChris Graduated from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham in 1988 and Qualified as a Chartered Surveyor two years later. Chris joined Rex Procter & Partners in 1994, becoming an Associate of the Practice in 2002 and a Partner in 2008. Chris's experience covers many sectors of the profession, particularly health, education and, predominantly, food retail. Chris is married with two children and away from work enjoys spending time with his family, especially escaping to his beloved Northumberland. For many years Chris was a school governor. Chris enjoys playing and watching football and is a life-long Leeds United fan.
Ian Tomlinson MRICS, DirectorIan qualified in 1991 having graduated from Salford University in 1989. Ian's QS experience essentially covers the "public sector" encompassing Heritage Lottery Funded and Education Projects. The Lottery Projects have included Museums, Public Parks, Visitor Centres and Historic Buildings and Monument projects. The Education Projects range from minor extensions to Primary Schools to providing cost and procurement advice on the BSF programme. Outside work, Ian's young family take up a lot of his time but he has a keen interest in Manchester United, rugby union, cricket and the odd pint!
Joe Deegan BSc MRICS, DirectorAfter completing a Quantity Surveying degree in Nottingham Joe qualified as an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1985. He joined Rex Procter & Partners in 1987 and having established himself as a valued member of the RPP Team was made an Associate of the Practice in 1993 and a Partner in 2000. Amongst his general duties as a Partner Joe also has supported and developed the development of surveyors and staff within the Practice realising Investor in People accreditation. Outside of the office Joe enjoys spending time with his family and takes a keen interest in non-league football as a life-long fan of Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC. He is also a keen golfer with a burning desire to reduce his handicap to a "shot a hole".
John Crowther FRICS, DirectorJohn qualified as an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1981, and became a Fellow of the Institution in 1993. John's experience covers most sectors and instigated the initial Contractor's Partnering Agreement at Bradford University in 2000. However, for several years his expertise has been focused on food retail schemes and had the key role of managing the largest retail conversion roll-out programme of the current decade. Outside of work, John enjoys b&w photography and developing, diy, holidays abroad, sodoku and trying to improve his skills at Wii Games in order to one day beat his children.
Karen Sandford MRICS, DirectorKaren qualified in 1997, having graduated from Salford University in 1995. Karen has experience in various sectors on both traditional and Employer's Agent work with a strong emphasis on Retail Karen has extensive experience of new build, extensions and refurbishment work including taking a lead role in the management of conversion programmes in the Leeds Office. Outside of work, Karen enjoys socialising, gardening, wine tasting and, occasionally, cycling.
Mark Watson FRICS, MAPM, DirectorMark qualified in 1989, having graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1987. Mark's QS experience covers almost all sectors but with a strong emphasis on commercial, education, residential and mixed use schemes. Mark is also a Member of the Association of Project Managers and takes a lead role in co-ordinating and managing Project Management and Employer's Agent work in the Bradford Office. Outside of work, Mark has a passion for mountains with annual trips most years to the Alps or similar. Other interests include golf, DIY and walking the dog in Yorkshire's glorious countryside. |
